108

I 0 8 is considered, since antiquity, a special number with many interpretations.

For us I 0 8 is: The self, the whole, infinity.

The idea of 108, as is usually the case, was born long before it became known to the outside world. At its core was the creation of a space in which tools for personal improvement and self-knowledge would be given, with love and devotion. Our main tool would of course be yoga, but also anything we feel helps our purpose!

Time passed and the circumstances helped us start with small steps to put a part of our idea into practice. This means that studio108 is an idea in progress! We “opened” with a small, warm space, wanting to build small groups that move forward with consistency and stability, considering that while the search for the self is a personal process, coexistence works beneficially!

Jonas

As a student of medicine and a lover of martial arts and calisthenics, Jonas met yoga by chance. During his studies in Germany, he devoted himself to Ashtanga yoga, “using” and applying his medical knowledge in practice. Aiming to gain a deeper understanding of the benefits of yoga, both physically and mentally, he begins his 7-month journey to India, where he deeply understands the interaction of movement and breathing with the psycho-emotional world. Returning to Greece, he started teaching yoga. The knowledge he gained from his studies, his love for continuous learning, combined with his growing experience in teaching, but above all his willingness to share his experience of the benefits of body movement and breathing soon allow him to teach anatomy, meditation and pranayama in specialized seminars and training programs.

Athina

“Learning to find comfort in uncomfortable positions”, this is yoga for me. Her yoga career began years ago, during her postgraduate studies in Barcelona. Since then she has never stopped practicing, even during her pregnancy which later led her to specialize in prenatal yoga. Returning to Greece, having completed her doctoral dissertation, she decided to engage in yoga a little more systematically in 2015 completing her 200-hour training program. Teaching yoga was not in her plans as, at the time, she was pursuing a career in counseling. “But life is what happens when you plan something else”!

This year we have with us...

Vera

Sport is an integral part of everyday life and of myself. For many years I have been playing tennis on a competitive level. During my postgraduate studies I got to know yoga. I quickly realized what a lifestyle it is as it helped me both physically and mentally. The acquaintance with Jonas and Athena was an inspiration for me to practice yoga more systematically. Wanting to deepen the practice and its understanding, I attended the 200-hour Yogaworks seminar. Through my lessons I want students to enjoy the practice and its benefits without being obsessed with the result.

“My enemies are anxiety and fear and my best friends are dreams and their realization.”

I honor the place in you where the entire Universe resides. I honor the place of love, of light, of truth, of peace. I honor the place within you where if you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me, there is only one of us.
